Burns brown in the evening air
Cars go cruising for Nirvana
From Newport Beach up to Big Sur
Lovers flirt with passing magic
There amongst the surfboard dunes
As I recall a former age

I need something to sustain me
It's such a long, long time 'til dawn
So I'll drive down to the desert
To the place where souls are born
